Welcome to the UCSC Bike Library
The Bike Library was originally a campaign of the Student Environmental Center that is now under the direction of UCSC's Transportation and Parking Services. Our mission is to promote bike ridership and support a growing bike community by providing bikes to students, faculty, and staff who would otherwise not have them.
We have 20 Kona bikes available to be checked out for free to eligible applicants at the beginning of each quarter. In order to apply for a bicycle we have applicants write a 500-700 word essay answering the questions provided on the Apply for a Bike page, and submit it on a google form. After if an applicant is confirmed they must attend one of the two Bicycle Street Skills classes during the quarter it is offered.

The Bike Library will begin accepting applications on October 1st. Eligible applicants who apply first will be given priority and bike supply is limited. The first sixty people to apply will be eligible for a bike. We will begin reviewing all applications for Bike Library bicycles after we receive 60 applications, so apply as soon as you can!
